Q&A: What kind of contact lens solution do you use to store your coloured contacts?

Question by Rachel: What kind of contact lens solution do you use to store your coloured contacts?
I have just purchased some GEO coloured contacts. Is Solocare Aqua Multipurpose solution suitable for storing it?
Since these are yearly coloured contacts and not regular ones, I was wondering if this solution would be suitable… The lenses are supposed to be used for 6-12 months, but the solocare box only gives a 5 minute express cleaning option for lenses worn more than 30 days :/
I bought these online from a blogshop

Your optometrist can tell you if it’s okay to use this brand and even suggest you a better one.

Q&A: Coloured contact lens problem?

Question by Christina L: Coloured contact lens problem?
i wear my monthly disposable coloured contact lens nearly eveyday for a long period of time.. The make of my lens are Fresh Look colourblends in Gray, i bin using the same brand and colour for the pass 2 years, it make my eyes looks bigger and change my natural dark brown eyes to light green/grey and never have any problems with it.. But for the past 2 months my eyes has bin infected twice mayb due to my lack of aftercare for the lens, and i’ve learn my lesson so i didnt use my lens till the infection was gone.. But since then every time i put my colour lens in, only my right eye change colour and my left eye remains to my natual brown.. it’s bin like this for the pass few weeks and i’ve tried to open a new pack to see if it make any differences but it didnt.. Is there somethin wrong with my eyes due to my past infections?

I re-read this several times, but it still doesn’t make sense.

You are saying that an opaque lens isn’t changing your eye color anymore ?

Have you asked other people to see if your color has changed, or is it just you who are seeing no change…cuz it is pretty well impossible for the color not to change when you put an opaque lens on it.

Are you using 2 different boxes, one for left and one for the right ?

Maybe the box of left lenses aren’t what they are supposed to be ?

Have you tried the right lens in the left eye to see if that works , as far as color change ?

Lots of questions, because it doesn’t make any sense….lol

Nothing could have happened to your eye that would make any difference, an opaque lens is still an opaque lens.

Are coloured contact lens good for your eyes?

Question by like a classic: Are coloured contact lens good for your eyes?
I’m 14 and im considering getting them. are they good for your eyes? please help

Best answer:

Answer by natet_2002
Yes they are fine but you have to go to the eye doctor to get a prescription.Go for Acuvue 2 colors as the Freshlook color contacts while they look the best, they hurt really bad. Also how natural they look depends on you natural eye color.I have brown eyes and they were a natural auburn/blue with the freshlook. But now I am back to my natural brown as you need to love yourself the way you are.

Hope this helps!

Can i use coloured contact lens? They said my eye pupil is too big. Why?

Question by Sadboy: Can i use coloured contact lens? They said my eye pupil is too big. Why?
How come? Can i use the coloured contact lens? I am 17 this year. Please help! They said that my eye pupil is too big for the contact lens and it may cause irritation if i use it. D:

Answer by Doctor P
If you look at a colored contact lens you can see the “painted on” iris that is supposed to go over yours to make the color look different. There is a pre-sized pupil made from the printed color. If your pupil is larger than the average contact you will be looking through the colored part and your world will looked tinted based on whatever contact tint you choose. Sorry, they are not for everytone.

Q&A: what brand of coloured contact lens do you wear?

Question by rochelle: what brand of coloured contact lens do you wear?
i tried the acuvue2 colours but it keeps on sliding down my eyes. any idea on the freshlook color blend?

Best answer:

Answer by Jennifer P
If your acuvue 2 is sliding down then perhaps you need a steeper base curve. You did not mention what your base curve is that you are currently wearing. An example of a base cure would be 8.3, 8.4, 8.6, and 8.7 in the Acuvues. A steeper base curve is a lens that fits the cornea much tighter.

How much do acuvue contact lenses cost??

Question by beautifuldisaster: How much do acuvue contact lenses cost??
how much do acuvue contact cost for like a month or two supply regularly ?? I’m trying to find a good price. Also since I know my prescription would i have to go to the eye doctor still. I know its -3.25 is there anything else i have to know for the contacts lenses because when you go to order them online they ask for the base curve? What is this and does it matter??

Best answer:

Answer by spongebobrogers
Depends on what type of acuvue contacts. Yes the base curve is the fitted size and is very important. If you have a prescription or old contact box it should say. If you haven’t had an eye exam in over 1 year yes it is important to make sure size and strength haven’t changed. Also, to make sure there is nothing wrong. You get a better deal if you buy a year supply b/c you get a rebate and money off each box that way. The rebate is only good with an eye exam though.

Q&A: What are some websites with cheap acuvue advance contact lenses?

Question by Candy: What are some websites with cheap acuvue advance contact lenses?
I want acuvue advance contact lenses for possibly 14 or 15 dollars and i only want to buy 4 boxes, so no rebates. any website that i can buy for 14 dollars that is not annually

Best answer:

Answer by
I wear the same lenses, and I’ve never found any that offer a rebate for that amount either…however…
you can get a cash-back rebate by clicking through www.PaymentKey.com. The prices are exactly the same, and the Paymentkey rebate is separate and added. I’ve been getting cashback with them for more than a year. They don’t have every single online store, but they have a couple of stores that sell contacts.

I hope this helps you…

Are Acuvue Oasys contact lenses for astigmatisms Permanent?

Question by Kelley: Are Acuvue Oasys contact lenses for astigmatisms Permanent?
I’ve been thinking about getting contact lenses to replace my glasses, and i have an astigmatism. So, i’ve seen the ads for the 2-week trial for acuvue contacts, but those contacts are disposable. Are they disposable only because it is a trial, or are all Acuvue contacts disposable? Because I can’t spend money buying new contacts every couple weeks, or ordering an annual supply or whatnot. help?!

Best answer:

Answer by David E
No contacts are permanent! When soft lenses first came on the market, they were so expensive that patients were told they would last a year. Some of these lenses are still on the market. Well before a year, changes take place in lenses that make them less safe and comfortable. Most lenses that have come on the market in the last ten years are designed for at least monthly replacement. All Acuvue products are two week replacement. A monthly replacement lens like Air Optix will cost a little less over a years time than Oasys.
